(1) How concentrated is local employment in occupations that published, peer-reviewed research identifies as exposed to current AI capabilities, and (2) how well-positioned is the local economy to adapt. It is an exposure and resilience index — a comparative, relative-standing measure — and it does not claim to say how many jobs will change in any place by any date.
Entirely from public federal data (Census CBP, ACS, QWI, LODES, Census of Governments; BLS OEWS, QCEW, National Employment Matrix; IPEDS; Census BFS) and published AI-exposure research (the Anthropic Economic Index; Felten, Raj & Seamans; Eloundou et al.). County occupation figures are model-based estimates, validated against area-level observations, and every county carries a Confidence rating reflecting source agreement, disclosure imputation, and county size.
